WTF?! // From Berlin Again...

Now my German language skills are pretty much limited to ordering beer, buying döner kebab and to shouting rude words but those bikes are obviously 'brakeless fixie bikes' confiscated by der Berlin Polizei...

I'm from Germany, short summary of this video:

Berlin police confiscates fixies because they classify their brakelessness to be dangerous for pedestrians and more. They call it "danger defense".

Problem of this campaign: There are no periods of grave for the fixies, they are confiscated that moment, the police controls em. No time to "upgrade" them with brakes to show them to police or else. Lawyers consider this as disproportional and probably illegitimate. And to make an example of this is not allowed in Germany.

Current status: A douzen fixies are kept proudly by the police in Berlin. (No similar info elsewhere to be heard). Controls are to be extended.

Best regards from Munich - almost a fixie-paradise.
