Olympia-ajot 31.7.2012 Käpylän Velodromilla

Huomenna tiistaina 31.7. aamulla klo 8-11.

"Helsingin Olympialaisten ratapyöräilyt kisattiin täsmälleen 60 vuotta sitten tuossa naapurissa Käpylän Olympiavelodromilla. Yksivaihde.netin ratajaos kunnioittaa perinteitä järjestämällä tiistaina 31.7.2012 omat Olympia-ajot ja -aamiaisen samassa paikassa alkaen aamulla kello 8. Kilpailujohtajana toimii tuore SM-mitalisti Lauri ja tarjoiluista ja muista järjestelyistä Jukka ja Toni.

Kilpailulajit tulevat olemaan ryhmä- ja parilähtöjä, joten kelloa vastaan ei tulla ajamaan. Kyseessä ei ole sen kummemmin retroilutapahtuma, joten avaruusajankin materiaaleilla on täysin hyväksyttävää osallistua. Kokemus velolla ajamisesta on suotavaa, mutta sen kummempaa kilpailutaustaa ei kuskeilta vaadita – Kaikki rohkeasti viivalle siis!"

King of Fixed 2012 In Photos

The annual KING OF FIXED contest happened yesterday. Heatwave, lots of people both participating and watching the event, beer, and Lucas Brunelle's Line of Sight at the BFF afterwards.

The whole day was awesome and in the end the infamous semi-legendary international bike messenger from Finland, Mr. Hattara, was crowned the New King. He certainly deserved the title, which was already his second title.

Surly KRAMPUS 29+

The single most interesting bicycle-thing I've heard in ages is the new Surly Krampus 29+, a 700c fat bike, or a just a 29er with huge 3" wide tires, whichever way you like it. The frame has horizontal dropouts too making it fix-able, at least in theory. Read more here.

Åffinity Resurrected

So, Super-Judda's Åffinity Kissena got accidentally killed to its all too early death receently by a semi-demented elderly motorist but in the end things worked out just fine and now young Judda has a brand new Kissena, and with way nicer parts on it too.
