Lil' something while waiting for the summer...

Here's my new project.

Unknown track frame, judging by the RGF bottom bracket shell and the Bocama Professional long point lugs it's probably French and from 1970s. I got it from ex-bike messenger girl (yeah, I know how "cool" that sounds...) who apparently bought it from Berlin Cyclope Paris couple of years ago. Since the frame is pretty beat up the plan is to keep this low key and low budget but let's see how this will end up. I'm already digging the fact that 25mm tire hits the seat tube when the axle is at the end of the track ends.

Edit.

It turned out that the frame is actually Le Jeune, and in fact exactly same model as this one behind the link.

Snow. Record-breaking 71cm this morning.

Yeah, we got some, all fluffy and lovely. I nailed some mad nice powder lines last night on my MTB around the neighborhood. No need for a snowboard or skiis around here.

Fiksi antaa kiksit. Talvellakin.

Thnaks to Kyttyrä for the scan.

Lutz Heßlich & Texima Bahnrad

Some East-German track cycling history here:

Great Lutz Heßlich portrait, from here, as seen at Prollys.

"Lutz Heßlich a GDR Sprinter (two times Olympic and 6x World Champion) rode 1984 in Moscow the 200m flying in 9.98sec. as first man on the earth."

However, the bike on the lower photo, although it appears to be the same model on each photo, is actually Michael Huebener's Texima, image from here.

BMW Gangsta V.2

Kim's new Gangsta, nice photos too.

KL to JB

From Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru from duraath on Vimeo.

Two dudes, two days, 300+km from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru (that's the Malaysian side border town next to Singapore, fyi). Respect. I've actually taken the train from JB to KL some six years ago and it took the whole damn day running through endless oil palm plantations but riding on the side of the highway doesn't look much nicer either.

Stolen in Helsinki!

Stolen last night from the yard of the Satama Social Centre bike workshop, in Kalasatama, Helsinki. So if you see it, hit me up. Probably just a drunken friday night prank so I don't think is going to be too far from its home...

Jopo Pista

Or maybe Jopo Tarck? ChopperOlli is on some real next level shit here...

So what we have here: a classic 1960s Finnish 22" wheel-size Helkama Jopo frame modified heavily to correspond more or less a 54cm size classic track bike. More pics of the project here.
