Tulos Bicycles - For REBELS!

A new fashionable Finnish bike brand (of course manufactured in China) has emerged, TULOS (meaning more or less 'Score'). And apparently:

"Näillä fillareilla on sielu, ne paljastavat kaiken.

Their funky blurb somehow reminds me of the cigarette ads from the 1950s or something.

Which almost makes sense when you consider that in the 1930s there used to be a Finnish bike brand called 'Tulos' from which the guys behind this took their name. Since I cannot come up with any positive things to say about these whips, maybe it's better I shut up now.

And he did it again...

Straight outta Olli's workshop. It's actually a three-speed geared bike but still...

Remember that he bends metal for a living so if you want some of his creations or just have a crazy idea of something no one else is willing to build for you, you can always shoot Olli a message.

Pelago Bicycle Brand

News about the new Pelago bike shop around my hood here in Vallila, Helsinki, broke about a month ago but no one seemed to know anything about it until last week, when the guys made it straight into the biggest newspaper in the country, even before their shop even opened up. Good for them and it's always nice to have friends who work in the media... In fact I know Timo too, he's one of the two brothers behing the whole thing but I just wasn't hip to what he'd been up to lately. 

Anyhow, it turned out that Pelago is actually not just a bike but a full bike brand instead. And they don't do fixed gear bikes either, but more like those European-style classic city bikes. And quite nice ones too, kind of bikes my girlfriend would love to ride, for example.
