Pelago Bicycles: San Sebastian 2012
Pelago Bicycle's new long waited San Sebastian for 2012 is finally out.
Basically San Sebastian is a simple yet versatile TIG-welded 4130 cromo fixed gear / single speed frameset made in Taiwan and modeled largely on the old warhorse Surly Steamroller but with some specific tweaks to make it even better: relatively shorter top tube and taller headtube, bit higher bb and eyelets for full long fenders and a front rack. Price is 395€ for frame and fork. What more you need?

Plenty of laughs have been had thanks to the Global Fixie Phenomena(tm) but this is beyond pretty much anything out there. Or anything that will ever come after this.

Robert Marchand, 100 Years Old Track Cyclist
"100 year old sets first-ever hour record mark for his age group
The oldest ever track record has been established by the Frenchman Robert Marchand who, over two months after turning 100 years of age, travelled to the World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland and established the mark of 24.251 kilometres.
...
Amazingly, the last time he was on a track was long before world war II. As a result, he spent four days prior to setting the mark familiarising himself with the Aigle velodrome. “I haven’t cycled on a track for 80 years. You have to get used to the fixed gear. I prefer cycling outside but that is impossible at the moment,” he said. “I don’t want to catch the flu, so I am short on training.”"

Cinelli Supercorsa Disc SSCX pt.2
Second photo of the prototype(?) Cinelli Supercorsa Disc SSCX surfaces but wtf, threaded headset and belt-drive? What were they thinking?
Well, I'm starting to think that while disc brakes would be awesome, the MASH SSCX would probably be much better choice. Apples and oranges for sure, but still.

Alexander Wang "Bike Lock"
"Biking has certainly become a much bigger deal again in recent years. Even with the entire fixed gear trend slowing down a little, people did get the message – biking is good for the city and for you. As such we come across cool bike accessories all the time and even fashion brands make sure that you are properly equipped."
Riiiight, from here.

Winter VISPs
I might have said some nasty things about those super cheap chinese Ebay track frames in the past but hey, to each their own. Winter bikes...

The "Red Monster" VR-3
Such an awesome looking machine, Syntace "Red Monster" VR-3, for testing their handlebars strength and reliability:
"Syntace MTB handlebars are tested to the absolute highest standards. Our test protocol is the industry's most rigorous, and most closely reflects the types of loads encountered in real riding. We constantly test all products, including the tried-and-true"
I have no doubts about this. And I bet the machine would dig heavy sounds like these:
Thanks, Paulus.

Titanium Track Bikes
Ok, as it turns out not all of these are actually titanium but there's some stainless steel in the mix there too. Still all real nice looking in that special grey.
