Oh my goodness, I've seen the womens' high heeled boots etc with cleats on the bottom but I haven't seen flipflops before! I just hope the rider is using brakes too because I wouldn't want to be reverse pedalling and have the cleat pop out of the rubber sole on the way down Archway hill!
