Even the stiffest and beefiest track cranks out there seem to fail, these ones after 2.5 years and 5000km or so. And the owner claims that the pedal was not overtightened, so beware.
I did that to my Motobecane Super Mirage crank in 1988. I was at a near crawl on a slight uphill, in probably eighth or ninth gear. I tried to force the slow acceleration. My trusty steed could not withstand the weight of my downthrust, making its true will known to me only too clearly. I still have that bike. It's gettin' pretty rusty from the beach and all. But I maintain it and ride it all over town. It's my heavy bike.

So, I do not really consider it may have effect.
