I've been following
this Ebay auction and it's really blowing by mind. At $500 with 6 hours to go still. Seriously? Because I don't get it, what's so special about those? It's just an older 151bcd Campa Pista 165mm crankset in nice condition with a big matching chainring, bolts, caps and bottom bracket.
Weeeeell, I got similar set with 49t chainring (the kind with the special extra thick inner lip) and a British threaded BB, all in very nice condition. And I guess I'd be willing to part with mine, so I'll accept
any offer above $500...
EDIT.
The auction ended at
US $531,00. Crazy.
holy shit, i sold my 151bcd campy cranks for 1/4 of the Price! Shit- somebody looking for some big chainrings- i still got some.....
ReplyDeleteHoly sh*t!

Hi guys, I'm really amazed at the outcome of the auction.
ReplyDeleteIf the buyer really was that Timo Scholz guy who desperately needed a 54t 151bcd chainring, then I guess we just better wish him luck for the Berlin 6 Days. ;)
Anyhow, yes, the Ebay prices of any Campa pista cranksets have obviously gone up like crazy just in couple of months, which I have hard time understanding why. Happy to own my own pair of those of course...
no, timo did not buy it, talked to him today, he found a 66 chainring, yes 66!?
ReplyDeleteThe problem with those pretty old campy cranks, they break!
ReplyDeletei know this is an old thread but those are the first cotterless pista cranks 1958 with the raised pedal hole. Different than the other 151 cranks. they came awitha pedal hole dustcap. You might have heard all this by now.
