Judging by the comments to my previous post about this new shop, some people have something against the 14 Bikes Company?

Well, I won't choose a side in this, it looks like a fine establishment to me and the people seemed to be having fun at the opening party.

Sneak Peek: 14 Bike Company Shop

There's a new fixed gear boutique opening in London soon, 14 Bike Company. And it looks pretty nice. 

Don't ask me for coordinates because I don't know although I'm guessing Brick Lane or thereabouts is the direction. Also, if I got this right, they will be only selling their own '14 Bike Co' house-brand track bikes built-up by themselves, and maybe framesets too.

"Le 'Fixie' Hits The Steets"

 
French quality newspaper Le Monde published yesterday an article on fixed gear bikes and the scene in Paris. 

It's a nice and informative piece of writing which I liked a lot because this is probably the first an article on the fg phenomena on a major newspaper ever which does NOT make a huge deal out of the fact that the 'fixie bikes' don't often have brakes. It's mentioned for sure, but in a very casual way. Fixed gear bikes are track bikes and track bikes don't have brakes, simple as that. I like that.

FUCT Messenger Bag

Yay! FUCT makes a messenger bag.

Probably not the most practical or functional bag but I personally still dig FUCT. Out of all the early 1990s skateboarding & whatever urban brands they were the coolest back in the day. Originators of the subversion. And yes, I'm really that old.

Chierici / Scarpa Pursuit Track Frame

I really dig all these pursuit track bikes so here's another nice one for sale on Ebay right now. Made by Chierici - Scarpa in Parma, Italy, probably in the early 1990s(?). The auction is for the 57cm frame & fork as well as a 650c front wheel. Check out the crazy hexagonal compressed tubing. Like whoa!

EDIT:

Thanks to T_M I just learned that the 'crimped' or 'fluted' tubing is actually called 'Gilco MS' and that it was made by Columbus from mid to late 1980s. However, this type of tubing was quite popular and there were also many variants made by competing brands at the time so not all that type of tubing is necessarily made by Columbus.
